Mrs. Prudence Bowdre

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Prudence Bowdre, of Tubman Road, Appling, Ga, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at the Doctors Hospital. Mrs. Bowdre was a native of Columbia County and a member of Second Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Appling, Ga. Survivors include five daughters, Ms. Pinkie Bowdre, Mrs. Mary Smalley, both of Appling, Ga, Mrs. Wilhelmenia (Milton) Garnett, Lincolnton, Ga, Mrs. Marie (Frank) Berry, Mrs. Annie Mae Dunn, Los Angeles, Calif; sons, Mr. Clause (Margaret) Bodwre, Mr. Ruben (Nellie) Bowdre, Augusta, Mr. Willie Bowdre, Mr. John (Carrie) Bowdre, Augusta, Mr. Barry Bowdre, Augusta, Mr. John Dent, Los Angeles, Calif.; a devoted brother, Mr. W.P. Dent; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Carrie Bowdre, Appling, Ga.; 22 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. from Second Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Appling, Ga, with Rev. Alexander Ingram officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in the state at the church from 1.p.m until the hour of the services and will not be viewed after the eulogy. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 1:40 p.m. The repast will be at the church after the interment. The Historic Dents Undertaking Establishment, Serving the CSRA since the 1800s.
