Mr. William Goodwin



MARTINEZ, Ga. - William C. "Butch" Goodwin, age 53, of Martinez, passed away, Friday morning, March 23, 2001 at St. Josephs Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Augusta, Butch had been an Operator Technician for the Olin Corporation for the past 25 years. He had attended Central Christian Church. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty Goodwin, Martinez; three sons, William J. ÒBillÓ Goodwin, Augusta, William C. "Clay" Goodwin, Jr., Augusta, Ronald ÒRonÓ Bennett Goodwin, Martinez; two brothers, William C. ÒBillyÓ Goodwin, Evans, Hugh W. "Skip" Goodwin, Graniteville, S.C.; three sisters, Madelyn G. McLeod, Evans, Mary G. Hardin, Hephzibah, Cheri G. Lee, Key West, Fla.; two granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews and best friend Johnny Leonard. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2001 from the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Ga. with Reverend David Trimmier officiating. Pallbearers will be: Mark Kniphfer, Ronnie Johnson, Tommy Young, Brian Young and Bob Ferons. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
