Defending champion and top-ranked University of Georgia headlines a deep field in the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational golf tournament, which begins today at Statesboro's Forest Heights Country Club.
Eight of the nation's top 10 teams are in the field, including 10th-ranked Augusta State.
Georgia has won twice this season with a lineup so strong that all five of its players are ranked in the top 100 in the country.
Augusta State, which has finished in the top five in eight of its starts this season, will field a team consisting of Michael Webb, Jamie Elson, Robert Duck, Oliver Wilson and Jayce Stepp.
The other teams in the field are host Georgia Southern, Clemson, Duke, Louisiana State, Northwestern, Auburn, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio State, South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina State and East Tennessee State.
