WRENS, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Wren Lively, 94, of 203 Stone St., Wrens, Ga., entered into rest Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Sky View Health Care Center in Sylvania, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the James Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Race Lariscey and Gary Jones officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. prior to the funeral Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include a nephew, John W. (Bud) Stone of Sylvania, Ga.; two nieces, Jennie Wren Leitch of Washington, D.C., and Dona Wren Christopher of Douglas, Ga. Mrs. Sara Lively was a native of Jefferson County. She operated a private kindergarten in Thomson for 25 years after having been a public school teacher in Tennille, Matthews and Thomson. In Thomson, she was a teacher of the Philathea Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. In Wrens, she was a member of Wrens Baptist Church and taught an Adult Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lively had been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution National Society for over 50 years. In Thomson, she was a member of the Capt. John Wilson Chapter. In Wrens, she was organizing regent of the John Franklin Wren Chapter. She was a historian for the Georgia State Society of NSDAR and a member of the Georgia Society State Officers Club. She had also been a member of the Wrens Town and Country Garden Club. Pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, John Pilcher, Ted Johnson, Walter Prescott, Richard Prescott, David McTier and White Kitchens.
