ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks placed starting center Lorenzen Wright on injured reserve with a sprained thumb Saturday night.
Wright, averaging 12.5 points and 7.8 rebounds, was hurt after slamming his thumb against the rim in the second quarter of a 108-103 loss at Philadelphia on Friday.
Atlanta did not replace Wright on the 12-man roster.
The Hawks' game with Chicago on Saturday was the fifth Wright has missed this season. He was sidelined for three games with a sprained right knee and missed a 17-point loss at Charlotte last month with the flu.
