Mr. Roy Perkins



HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Roy McTier Perkins, 72, of 4380 Saxon Drive, Hephzibah, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Webb Perkins, in 1994. Mr. Perkins was a native of Jefferson County, Ga. He was retired from Albion Kaolin as a heavy equipment operator. He was a Army veteran and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Frances P. Blackmon, Evans, Nora P. Wood, Parksville, S.C., and Mary P. Rhodes, Augusta; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah Chapel, with the Rev. Albert Halford officiating. Burial will be in Hephzibah- Vance Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Mens Sunday School Class of Faith Baptist Church, Blythe, and include McArther James, Walton Hood, Robert Ellis, Jerry Marks, Mikel Skinner and Walter Cook. The family will receive friends at 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 162, Blythe, Ga. 30805.
