Mrs. Ruby Bentley



THOMSON - Mrs. Ruby M. Bentley, 88, of Wrightsboro Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Zion Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. James L. Lawson officiating. Burial will be in New Zion Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Bentley, a native of McDuffie County, was a homemaker and a member of New Zion Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a missionary and secretary.

Survivors include four sons, William Bentley Sr., Thomson, Lynn Bentley, Panama City, Fla., Harvey Bentley, Goldsboro, N.C., and Jacob Bentley, Tampa, Fla.; four daughters, Helen Smith, Augusta, Betty B. McNeal and Emmie J. Cowins, both of Thomson, and Mary E. West, Columbia, Md.; a brother, Luther Stockton Sr., Augusta; a sister, Sara Cox, Thomson; and 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Friends may call at the residence or at Pinkston-Roberts Funeral Home.
