METTER, Ga. - Mr. Gus Pinkney Jr., 27, of Lucky Street, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Jenkins County Hospital, Millen.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Williams Grove Holiness Church, Millen, with the Rev. Amos Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Gordon Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Millen.
Mr. Pinkney, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was a truck driver, a Mason and a member of Gordon Grove Baptist Church.
The family said: "We are deeply saddened and will miss our loved one. Thank you to our friends for the prayers and love. We will move on by God's grace."
Survivors include his wife, Thomacina M. Pinkney; his parents, Gus Sr. and Juanita Pinkney, Millen; a brother, Zavis C. Pinkney, Millen; two sisters, Schenise C. Pinkney, Metter, and Tasha Nelson, Statesboro; his paternal grandmother, Willie Pearl Daughtry, Twin City; and his maternal grandmother, Emma Mincey, Metter.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge 414 and deacons of Gordon Grove Baptist Church.
