On Feb. 18 the world lost its greatest champion and I lost a personal hero. I can only imagine the pain and sorrow his family and friends are going through. My thoughts, hopes and prayers are with them.
Dale Earnhardt was a huge inspiration to me. My father and I have very different outlooks and opinions on virtually everything, but "The Intimidator" provided us with a common interest that allowed us to communicate with each other and be friends. I hope NASCAR retires the No. 3 and renames the Winston Cup to the Earnhardt Cup. It would be a fitting tribute for a man who sacrificed so much for this sport.
Our love goes out to the Earnhardt family, Richard Childress Racing and Family, Dale Earnhardt Inc., NASCAR, and anyone else whose life was touched by this great man. We will always remember the countless great moments he provided us and the true meaning of what it is to be a man, a husband, a father, a hero, a champion and a legend.
We Love You, Dale.
