Mr. Tupper Johnson Jr.



JOHNSTON, S.C. - Mr. Allen Tupper Johnson Jr., 76, of Woodside Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnston First Baptist Church with the Revs. Lowell Clark, Charles Hattaway and Thomas Barwick officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. Johnson, a native of Saluda County, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a command sergeant from the South Carolina National Guard. He was a funeral director at Bland Funeral Home and was a former fire chief and municipal judge of the city of Johnston. He was a member of American Legion Post 154, Kadosh Masonic Lodge 181, 40 and 8, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Johnston First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Casey Johnson; a son, Danny A. Johnson, Concord, N.C.; a daughter, Nancy J. Wallace, Summerville; a sister, Frances Holmes, Barnwell; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Bland Funeral Home.
