Mr. George Price



AIKEN - Mr. George Luther "G.P." Price, 80, of Marlboro Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Slaughter officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Park.

Mr. Price, a native of Edgefield County, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a truck driver from DuPont. He was a member of Sharp Shooters Hunt Club; American Legion Post 212, where he was sergeant-at-arms; and Second Baptist Church.

The family said, "He leaves us to treasure his memories."

Survivors include two sons, Arthur Lee Price, Columbia, and William C. Price, Aiken; and 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post 212.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of Second Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call at the residence of William C. Price, 1550 Redd St.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Miller's Funeral Home.
