AIKEN - Mr. Ernest Durham Sr., 87, of Newman Circle, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Anna Baptist Church with the Revs. Alfred Holmes and J.R. Wise officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Park.
Mr. Durham, a native of Bamberg, was an Army veteran of World War II, during which he earned a Bronze Star and American Service Medal. He had retired as a plumber and was a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge; Mount Harris Masonic Lodge 270; and Sardis Baptist Church, Salley.
Survivors include four sons, Amos Jones Sr., Aiken, and Ernest Durham Jr., Tyrone Durham and Marvin Durham, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two sisters, Frances Corbitt and Daisy Walker, both of Aiken.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and Mount Harris Masonic Lodge 270.
Friends may call at the residence or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Anna Baptist Church.
