HODGE, La. - Mr. Charles Day Quarles Jr. died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Lincoln General Hospital, Ruston.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, with Dr. John Charles officiating. Burial will be in Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery, Jonesboro.
Mr. Quarles, a native of Atlanta, was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and had retired as director of maintenance and engineering from Stone Container Corp. He was a member of Advance Country Club, Jonesboro Hodge Lions Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Thomas Quarles; two sons, Charles Day Quarles III, Jacksonville, N.C., and Howard Thomas Quarles, San Antonio; a daughter, Barbara Quarles Tipping, Marietta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Jackson, Jimmie Rogers, Donnie Breihn, Johnny Dye, Ernest Howard, L.C. Smith, DeWitt Jones, Paul Williams, Sam Ledbetter, Leonard Conville, Bobbie Emmerson, Barry Doner, Gilbert Pickens, Tad Ingram and Wade Wright.
Edmonds Funeral Home, Jonesboro, is in charge of arrangements.
