Mrs. Sibyl Simmons, 81, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Dr. Alice Rogers and the Revs. Grady Wigley, John Kenney and Rudolph Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Simmons, a native of Laurens County, was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was a former president of United Methodist Women and a member of Chancel Choir and Dialog Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Simmons; a son, Joel W. Simmons, Augusta; a brother, David Baum Wilkes Jr., Augusta; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Earl Wright, Phil Cupp, Ed Wicker, Bob Rowland, Cecil Sharp and Jeff Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dialog Sunday School Class and Chancel Choir of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.
