WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mr. Austin W. Hopkins, 84, of Orchard Street, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Emory Hospital, Atlanta.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery with Dr. John M. Childers and the Rev. Albert Huyck officiating.
Mr. Hopkins, a native of Wilkes County, had retired from Pet Dairy Inc. and was a member of Washington First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine D. Edwards Hopkins; five sons, Sid Hopkins, Doraville, Colon Edwards Jr., Robert Edwards and Thomas Eugene Edwards, all of Washington, and Michael A. Edwards, Cumming; a daughter, Bobbie H. Smith, Athens; a brother, Willie Frank Hopkins, Washington; a sister, Vera Sales, Atlanta; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Oliver Sales Jr., Ralph Hopkins Jr., Bill Hopkins Jr., Sam Hopkins and Hassel Porterfield.
Friends may call at the residence.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home.
