HAMPTON, S.C. - The Rev. Lillie Rose Cohen Hampton, 77, of Williams Street, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church, Varnville. Burial will be in Mount Claire Holiness Church Cemetery, Scotia.

The Rev. Heyward, a native of Hampton County, was assistant pastor of St. Stephens Holiness Church, where she was a member, and a homemaker. She was a former member of Silver Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Daniel Heyward, Isaac Heyward Jr., Nathaniel Heyward and David Heyward, all of Varnville, and Harry Lee Heyward, Fayetteville, N.C.; five daughters, Ollie Welch, Raleigh, N.C., Belle Wright, Garland, Texas, Carolyn Jamison, Hampton, and Debra Scott and Christine James, both of Varnville; two brothers, Louis Cohen, Varnville, and Marion Smith, New Jersey; two sisters, Helen Smith, Baltimore, and Pearl Smith, Hampton; and 42 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Washington's Funeral Home.
