Paine men, women beaten



JACKSON, Tenn. - MacDaniel Young and Colin Jamerson scored 14 points apiece coming off the bench, but Lane held off Paine's second-half rally Monday night, posting an 85-79 victory.

Yari Scott added 10 points for the Lions, while Byron Simmons, Vinson Winfrey and Amos Brittain chipped in with eight.

Paine trailed by 10 at the half, but was within single digits throughout the final 20 minutes in keeping the game close.

Andreus Lee (32 points) and Angelo Jones (27) paced Lane.

Lane women 62, Paine 51

JACKSON, Tenn. - Paine's Germaletta Dyson (21 points) was the lone Lady Lion to reach double figures in ans 11-point loss.

Dyson had a double-double, adding 11 rebounds. No other Lady Lion scored more than seven points. Pamela Williams led Lane with 21 points, while Tiereney Springfield had 18 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists.
