Mr. John Q. Adams, 91, of Hampton Avenue, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Fellowship Church with the Rev. Wade Trimmer officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Adams, a native of Brunson, S.C., had retired as an engineer from Georgia Railroad and was a member of United Trainmans Union Lodge 674, Friday Morning Men's Prayer Breakfast at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and Grace Baptist Fellowship Church, where he was a member of Kate Keener Sunday School Class.
The family said, "He was a fine Christian gentleman who had the utmost respect of all who knew him."
Survivors include a son, E.W. Reece, Augusta; a daughter, Annette Adams Coward, Augusta; a brother, James Adams, Clearwater; two sisters, Sadie A. Smith, Langley, and Louise A. Moore, North Augusta; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Arnold, Billy Johnson Sr., Edward Parker, Bill Williams, David Graves and Tony Wilkerson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.
