Mrs. Sonia VerHagen



KEWANEE, Ill. - Mrs. Sonia M. Baker VerHagen, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Duane Jack officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. VerHagen, a native of Novagrudak, Poland, was a former food service employee and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary societies and Women's Catholic Order of Forresters.

Survivors include a son, David J. VerHagen, California; two daughters, Marcia A. Johnson, Augusta, and Anita Anaya, Flagstaff, Ariz.; a brother, Joe Baker, Arizona; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Hospital Hospice, the American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends after a 5:30 p.m. rosary service Monday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home until 7:30 p.m.
