Mr. Robert Bowdre Jr., of Tubman Road, Appling, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Alexander Ingram officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bowdre, a native of Columbia County, was an Army veteran and had retired as an engineer from Sweetheart Cup. He was a member of Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Bell Bowdre; three daughters, Kathy M. Dunn, Martinez, and Sirena A. Bowdre and Pamela J. Bowdre; his mother, Pridence Bowdre, Appling; four brothers, Reuben Bowdre, Cleause Bowdre, John Willie Bowdre and Willie Bowdre; and five sisters, Wilhelmenia Garnett, Marie Berry, Pinkie Bowdre, Annie Mae Dunn and Mary Smalley.
Pallbearers will be MaGahee Luke, Cory Bowdre, Michael Garnett, Barry Bowdre, Darnell McCain, Carnell McCain and Barry Luke.
Friends may call at the residence or at Dent's Undertaking Establishment.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
