Mr. Claude Goldman



AIKEN - Mr. Claude Cermelion Goldman, 79, of Vaucluse Road, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Azalea Woods Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Shellhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Caleb Coffin officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Goldman, a native of Avril, Texas, was a Navy veteran of World War II, during which he received the Navy Marine Corp Medal of Honor and a Purple Heart, and had retired as a painting contractor. He was a member of Purple Heart Club, Augusta; Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion Post 43, Aiken; and Disabled American Veterans, where he was a former commander. He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harrington Goldman; a son, Bobby Goldman, Aiken; a daughter, Dorothy G. Wood, Aiken; two brothers, Bob Goldman, Aiken, and Elton Goldman, Florida; a sister, Lucille Brown, North Augusta; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Goldman, Jeffrey Goldman, Raymond Wood, Scott Saul, Joey Meyer and Jim Westbrook.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m today at the funeral home.
