Augusta State defeated Carson-Newman 8-7 on Sunday to win for the third time in the four-game series.
It marks the second straight year the Jaguars have opened the season winning three of four from the Eagles.
Meanwhile, USC Aiken's game with Lincoln Memorial in the Peach Belt/Gulf South Challenge in Jacksonville, Fla., was rained out.
Augusta State jumped out to a 5-1 lead through five innings only to see Carson-Newman score four runs in the sixth to tie the game at 5-5.
The Jaguars answered with three consecutive doubles in the bottom of the inning by John Graham, Chris Cooper and Will Foskey. Each two-bagger sent home a run.
Matt May and Cooper had two hits and two RBI each for the Jaguars (3-1), while Augi Rodriguez and Foskey also had two hits each.
The Jaguars return to action Tuesday, playing a 2 p.m. home game against Gardner-Webb at the ASU complex.
USC Aiken (1-1) opens its Peach Belt Conference season Saturday with a weekend series against USC Spartanburg. The Pacers and Rifles will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by a Sunday (1 p.m.) single game.
