NORTH AUGUSTA - Mrs. Sara Harper Hinton, 65, of Sedgewood Court, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Tom Harris, James O. Harper and William N. Harper officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hinton, a native of Bucksport, had retired as a fourth grade schoolteacher from Summerfield and North Augusta elementary schools. She was former executive board member of Winthrop University Alumni Association and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honor Society for Women Educators Alpha Rho Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution Martintown Road Chapter, French Huguenot Society of South Carolina, Aiken County Retired Teachers Association, South Carolina Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association of Retired Teachers and Fairview Presbyterian Church, where she was a circle leader, Sunday school teacher and Stain Glass Window co-chairman.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Hinton; a son, H. Edward Hinton, Appling; a daughter, Ellen Hinton Harper, Martinez; her father, J. Ernest Harper, Bucksport; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Frank Rogers, Charles Goodwin, Tom Cupstid, Laird Staley, Neil Paul, Doug Arnold and Hubert Turner.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home.
