MILLEN, Ga. - Mr. Alfred Lee English, 57, of Old Perkins Road, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bay Branch Baptist Church, Sylvania, with the Revs. Bobby Collins and Eugene McCard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. English, a native of Screven County, had retired as a construction worker from B.E.&R. Construction and was Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jean Wetherington, Pembroke, and Ann English, Millen; his mother and stepfather, Edna and Herbert Collins, Oak Park; three brothers, Larry English, Millen, and David Collins and Danny Collins, both of Orangeburg, S.C.; two sisters, Elise Thornton, Decatur, Ala., and Viola Sanders, Statesboro; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Newton, Dee Newton, Chris Newton, John Youmans, Robbie Youmans and Norman Parker.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
