Mr. Arthur H. Durshimer Jr., 68, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Dr. P. Alice Rogers and the Revs. John Kenney and Rudolph Dixon officiating.
Mr. Durshimer, a native of Ocala, Fla., was an Army veteran of the Korean War and had retired as a civil engineer from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 34 years and from Richmond County as a traffic engineer after 3 years. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where he was a member of Chancel Choir.
The family said: "Mr. Durshimer came to Augusta in 1989 from Tucker, Ga. He was a 1954 graduate of Auburn University and a 1950 graduate of Albany High School.
Survivors include his wife, Vi Durshimer; two sons, Steven Lee Durshimer, Hudson, Fla., and Arthur H. Durshimer III, Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Georgia L. Durshimer, Martinez; his mother, Louise A. Durshimer, Albany; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Platt's Funeral Home, North Belair Road, Evans.
