Mr. Kenneth Peeler

EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. Kenneth Manley Peeler, 48, of Wells Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, in Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Dr. Tony Hopkins officiating.

Mr. Peeler, a native of Edgefield County, was a salesman for Yonce Ford Motor Co. and an Edgefield town councilman, where he was a member of the Public Works and Recreation Committee and had been mayor pro-tem since 1987. He was a Mason and a member of Edgefield First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Slade Peeler; two daughters, Bailey Peeler and Sarah Peeler, both of Edgefield; his mother, Maxie Bailey Peeler, Edgefield; and a sister, Kathy Benefield, Edgefield.

Pallbearers will be Herbert Yarborough, Jim Harling, Frank Reese, Sid Miller, Ric Vann, Hugh Morgan and Boyd Stribling.

Honorary pallbearers will be the mayor and members of the Edgefield Town Council and Police Department.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
