Poet is praised for self-esteem

Congratulations to Augusta teen Amber Stackhouse for her writing success.

Her published poem, I Am, which also appeared in the Jan. 16 XTREME section of The Chronicle is not only good writing, but reveals a confident young woman who intends to achieve more than she already has. Having something published while still in middle school is unusual in itself, but being "proud of myself for being who I am" is rarer still.

Congratulations, also, to Amber's language arts teacher, Linda Gillespie, whose encouragement can only foster the efforts of her students.
