Mr. Thomas Chavis



BLACKVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Thomas Chavis, 60, of South Carolina Highway 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Burial will be in Williston Cemetery, Williston.

Mr. Chavis, a native of Orangeburg County, owned and operated Chavis's Open Air Market, Beaufort, and was a member of Full Gospel Mission, Barnwell.

Survivors include four sons, Michael A. Chavis and Mark Chavis, both of Blackville, Terry L. Chavis, Windsor, and Randy L. Chavis, Barnwell; five brothers, Leamon Chavis, Blackville, O'Neal Chavis, Williston, Cecil Chavis, Barnwell, and Mack Chavis and Earl Chavis, both of Windsor; five sisters, Patricia Hair, Blackville, and Jeanette Driggers, Shelby Williams, Barbara Carter and Cathy Davis, all of Barnwell; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
