POOLER, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Vivian Hillis, 81, of Morgan Street, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pooler First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Byerly officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Hurst Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylvania.
Mrs. Hillis, a native of Burke County, had retired as owner and operator of Vivian's Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Palestine Chapter;the American Business Women's Association, where she was named Woman of the Year for 1980 and 1990; and Pooler First Baptist Church, where she was a member of Win One Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Hillis, Pooler; two sisters, Victoria Hudson, Savannah, and Bernice Fleming, Millen; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
