Mr. Willie Phillips



DEARING - Mr. Willie Phillips, 62, of Fish Hatchery Road, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at McDuffie County Regional Hospital, Thomson.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Calvery Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Upchurch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Phillips, a native of McDuffie County, was a self-employed truck driver and was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Phillips; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Hobbs and Donna Tuten, both of Dearing, and Rebecca Kennedy, Raymore, Mo.; five brothers, James Phillips, Thomson, Howard Phillips, Dearing, Jack Phillips, Wrens, Gene Phillips, Columbus, and John D. Phillips, Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, Ida Belle Remson and Dovie Reed, both of Lincolnton, and Doris Harwell, Virginia Beach, Va.; and four stepgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alex Phillips Jr., Alex Phillips Sr., Don McCorkle, Bobby Phillips, Gregg Phillips, Joe Hall and Allen Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Knox Rivers and contract employees.

Friends may call at the residence; at John B. Johnson Funeral Home, Thomson,or at the church.
