Mrs. Leona Adams



WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Leona Smith Adams, 95, of Alexander Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Tucker.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Huyck and Dr. John Charles officiating. Burial will be in Tignall Baptist Church Cemetery, Tignall.

Mrs. Adams, a native of Rome, had retired as a schoolteacher and was a member of Washington Woman's Club and Garden Club and Washington First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Robert M. Adams, Greenville, S.C., David Adams, New York, Dick Adams, Duluth, and Walter N. Adams, Tucker; a daughter, Carolyn A. Sargent, Lexington, S.C.; and 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be James Collins, Rob Adams, Russell Adams, Billy Wallace, Presley Blakey and Morgan Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home.
