"You don't need to be an analyst to see that the retail market continues to be very unforgiving - in fact, it's bruising," - John Oliver, a spokesman for GE Capital Services, the General Electric subsidiary overseeing Montgomery Ward, which is closing its 250 stores and 10 distribution centers after being in business for 128 years.
