WOODBURY, Ga. - The Rev. Isaac C. "Ike" Davis, 78, of Mountain View Drive, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at LaGrange Hospice, LaGrange.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Woodbury Baptist Church with the Revs. Drew Corbett and Billy Lawrence and Dr. William J. Lacy officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Church Cemetery, Molena.
The Rev. Davis, a native of Molena, had retired as a minister from Molena Baptist Church. He was former assistant commandant and dean of Georgia Military Academy; former administrator of Georgia Baptist Children's Home, Hapeville; and a former employee of the state Department of Human Resources. He was director of the Airport Area Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the board of directors of Hapeville Chamber of Commerce, the Pike County Board of Health, the steering committee of the Centennial Baptist Association, the board of directors of the Georgia Alliance for Children, the Pike County Ministerial Association and the board of deacons of Woodbury Baptist Church. He was chairman of the deacons board of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Morgan Davis; two daughters, Gail D. Hammock, Cordele, and Pamela D. McCarty, Washington; a stepson, Pete Melton, Sunnyvale, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Myra Beth Alexander, Molena, and Jody Yates, Fayetteville; a brother, William H. Davis, Madison; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
