EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Adam Seitz scored a season-high 21 points to lead five players in double figures as Evansville beat Tennessee State on Monday, 86-80 in overtime.
Seitz was 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, including 6-of-6 in overtime.
Craig Snow added 20 points, tying his season high, for the Purple Aces (6-7). Chuck Hedde scored 17, Dan Lytle had 12 points and Kyle Runyan scored 11 for Evansville.
Garrett Richardson led Tennessee State (3-9) with 23 points, including 18 in the first half.
Tennessee State led 43-42 at halftime despite better shooting by Evansville. The Purple Aces hit 16-of-26 shots in the first half, while the Tigers hit just 16-of-34.
But Tennessee State hit 6-of-13 from three-point range, while Evansville was just 2-of-6 in the first half.
Evansville was 0-for-4 on 3-pointers in the second half, but the Purple Aces shot 12-of-20 from inside the arc and hit 7-of-8 free throws to force the overtime.
Terrick Brown hit a short bank shot to forge an 80-80 tie with 2:40 to play in overtime. But Seitz then hit six straight free throws while Tennessee State failed to score the rest of the game.
Kevin Samuel added 17 points for Tennessee State, and John Gilmore scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
