MONTICELLO, Ga. - Mr. Norman Reid Carnes Sr., 81, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Monticello Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jake Marshall officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery.
Mr. Carnes, a native of Rabun County, had retired as a captain from the Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II. He also had retired as a personnel manager from Carnes Construction and was a member of American Legion Post 110 and Monticello Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Reid Carnes Jr., Martinez, and Tim Carnes, Acworth; three daughters, Peggy Boggan, Lilburn, Bonnie Dreyfuss, Monticello, and Susie Dumas, Macon; a brother, Max Carnes, Commerce; five sisters, Floy Underwood, Perry, Carolyn Brewer, Clayton, Kitty Vinson, Dillard, Sue Smith, Athens, and Mattie Sharpton, Charleston, S.C.; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Jordan Funeral Home.
