Mrs. Josie Mae Williams Tarver, 89, of Augusta Avenue, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Beverly Manor Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Doyle Grove Baptist Church, Blythe, with the Rev. Charlie Pugh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tarver, a native of Millen, had retired as a cook from American Legion, Academy of Richmond County and Environmental Services at University Hospital. She was a member of Doyle Grove Baptist Church, where she was chief usher of the Usher Board and a member of Mission Circle 2, Moral Aide Society, Pastor's Aid Club and McIntyre Court 56.
Survivors include a daughter, Mattie Mae Tarver Lawson, Augusta; and nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
Friends may call at the residence of Mattie Lawson, 403 Rachel St.; or at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
