Mr. Gene E. Collins, 60, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fleming Church of God with the Rev. Ken Young officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Collins, a native of Augusta, was a master carpenter at Augusta Millworks and was former co-owner of C & M Aluminum. He was a member of Thomas Twillers Square Dance Club, a local carpenters' union and Fleming Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Collins; a son, Steve Collins, Martinez; a daughter, Sherrie Collins-Barajas, Augusta; a brother, Jimmy Collins, Statesville, N.C.; a sister, Vera Hardin Hollins, Augusta; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Moxley, Steven Bryant, James Norman Bryant Sr., James Norman Bryant Jr., Harold Newsome and Paco Barajas.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Augusta Millworks.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road.
