Mr. Dugar Newton



ROCKY FORD, Ga. - Mr. Dugar "Bo" Newton, 74, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Jenkins County Hospital, Millen.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, Statesboro, with W.I. Tidwell and the Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be in Newton Family Cemetery.

Mr. Newton, a native of Screven County, was a Navy veteran of World War II and had retired as a farmer. He was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Zada Finch Newton; a son, Larry Dugar Newton, Rocky Ford; a daughter, Greta Newton Brunken, Rocky Ford; a stepson, Chuckie Hunnicutt, Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Hunnicutt Hunter, Savannah; four sisters, Ailene Parker, Baltimore, Bernice Finch, Millen, and Shirley Glisson and Joann Beard, both of Sylvania; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Barry Durden, J.T. Parker, Ken Newton, Kelly Newton, Roy Finch, Jimmy Mallard, Bobby Mallard and Tim Tyson.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
