Here's a depressing note as the lame-duck U.S. Congress limps along.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is asking for $100 million, which it says it will spend to find out what happened to $5 billion that can't be accounted for.
Lost? Stolen? Misplaced? Who knows? But taxpayers must shell out more in the latest appropriations bill to hopefully find out.
