CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Jody Lumpkin had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Charleston past South Carolina Aiken 67-49 Friday night at John Kresse Arena.
Aiken (4-4) got off to an early 5-1 lead before Jeff Bolton and Troy Wheless hit a pair of three pointers to give Charleston (6-1) the lead for good.
The Cougars took a 29-22 lead into the half and had their largest lead at 59-37 with 5:40 left.
Thomas Mobley and Wheless each had 11 for Charleston, while Aiken was lead by Art Salary and Dain Brown with 10 points each.
The Pacers shot just 40 percent from the field and 25 percent from 3-point range, while the Cougars hit 43 percent from the field and 37 percent from long range.
