Mr. H. Edward Flake



WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. H. Edward Flake, 79, of Jones Avenue, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Burke County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home, Millen, with the Rev. Earl Saxon officiating. Burial will be in Alexander United Methodist Church Cemetery, Alexander.

Mr. Flake, a native of Burke County, had retired as a maintenance engineer from Keller Industries after 20 years and was a member of Alexander United Methodist Church.

The family said, "Twelve grandchildren, Karen Dickey, Kathy Lumpkin, Paula Flake, Beth Carver, Shelley Thigpen, Terry and Sherrie Cooper, Henry Flake Jr., Jim Hilderbrandt, Dewey Flake, James Hunter III and Duane Hunter."

Survivors include his wife, Era Mae Barefield Flake; two sons, Lester Flake, Augusta, and James Henry Flake Sr., Sardis; two daughters, Elaine F. Hunter, Ypsilanti, Mich., and Sandra L. Flake, Waynesboro; a brother, Louie Flake, Waynesboro; two sisters, Lessie Bell, Waynesboro, and Mary Crosby, Port Wentworth; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian McClain, W.Z. McClain, David Ezernack, Randy Tapley, George Bradham, Johnny Jenkins, James Thomas, Steve Thomas, Greg Coursey and James Hollingsworth.
