Mr. Charles R. "Geechee" Harden Sr., 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at West View Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Wheeler officiating.
Mr. Harden, a native of Augusta, had retired as a pipe welder and built the Geechee Harden fishing boat. He was a member of Local 150 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union and Warren Baptist Church.
The family said: "He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He loved to hunt and fish and was known for his Geechee fishing boats."
Survivors include three sons, Charles R. Harden Jr. and Tommy H. Harden, both of Augusta, and Ernest Gary Harden, Evans; a daughter, Nancy H. Klozer, Martinez; a sister, Lilian Aldridge, Evans; and 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez.
