Mr. Milton Sylvester Thurmond, 89, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Windermere Adult Day Health Center.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Westover Memorial Park with the Revs. Charles Mason and Robert Welborn officiating.
Mr. Thurmond, a native of Augusta, had retired as a loom fixer from King Mill after 50 years and was a member of Faith Memorial Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Joann Gordon and Martha Beasley, both of Augusta, Connie McKinney, Lincolnton, and Myra Roye, Appling; a stepsister, Delores McKinney, Augusta; and nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a great-great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gerald McKinney, Stephen McKinney, Eddie Carroll, Travis Roye, Jamie Roye and Michael Roye.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.
