THOMSON - Mrs. Vera Dunaway Garrison, 75, of Mount Pleasant Road, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at McDuffie County Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dearing Baptist Church, Dearing, with Dr. Michael Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrison, a native of Thomson, had retired from McDuffie County Board of Education and was a charter member of Town and Country Woman's Club of Dearing, where she was president. She was a member of Dearing Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, director of Women's Missionary Union, president of Betty Evans Circle and a member of Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Garrison, Griffin, and Billy Garrison, Augusta; two brothers, Adron Dunaway, Thomson, and Mayhu Dunaway, Newport News, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Fred Perdue, Roger Dunaway Jr., Owen Williams, Robert Dunaway, Jerry Dunaway and Bobby Dunaway.
Memorials may be made to Dearing Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Dearing.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. today at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem.
