NORTH AUGUSTA - The Rev. J. Yates Frady, 89, of Courtney Drive, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Baptist Church, Augusta, with the Revs. Kevin Steele and Joey Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The Rev. Frady, a native of Greycourt, had retired as a minister after 70 years and had served at Second Baptist Church of Augusta; Crosswell Baptist Church, Sumter; and Red Oak Baptist Church, Modoc. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
The family said, "The Rev. Frady was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Bolton Frady."
Survivors include his wife, Mary D. Frady; a son, Marshall B. Frady, Sherman Oaks, Ga.; two daughters, Nancy F. Huggins, Winterville, N.C., and Karen F. Smith, Lexington; a stepson, Alvin B. Dickson, Augusta; a stepdaughter, Cynthia D. Vinson, Augusta; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randall Smith, Randall Smith Jr., Ben Lovell, Keith Wren, Carson Sellers, Steve Lovell and Bill Stamper.
Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 1825 Kissingbower Road, Augusta, GA 30904; or to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904-4726.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rowland Funeral Home.
