Mr. Thomas E. "Ted" Davis Jr., 53, of Appling, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Hester officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Davis, a native of Millen, was an Air Force veteran. He was a chemical operator at DSM Co. and a former Piggly Wiggly Food Stores manager. He was a member of Leah Volunteer Fire Department, Leah; Phinizy Gossip Club; and Damascus Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of Friendship Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Davis; a son, Thomas Elijah Davis III, Appling; two daughters, Lisa Golden and Dottie McLaughlin, both of Appling; a sister, Alice Sue Redd, Waynesboro; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wes Fuller, Rick Bussey, Lloyd DeFoor, O.G. Penner, Grady Fuller, Billy Jenkins, Bob Lollar and Gene Fuller.
Memorials may be made to Damascus Baptist Church Building Fund, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling, GA 30802.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, North Belair Road, Evans.
