Freeman fined $10,000

MILWAUKEE -- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Thursday for slapping the ball from an official's hands in last weekend's loss at Tampa Bay.

Freeman was penalized for "making impermissible physical contact with a game official," league spokesman Chris McCloskey said. "Specifically, he approached the head linesman from behind and slapped the ball from his hand."

The fine, issued after league officials reviewed the incident which occured in the Packers' 20-15 loss on Sunday, can be appealed within 20 days.
