Mrs. Eula Akins



BROOKLET, Ga. - Mrs. Eula Byrd Akins, 92, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Screven County Hospital, Sylvania.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Howard Cox and Mike Newman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Akins, a lifelong resident of Bulloch County, had retired from Syl-View Nursing Home after 16 years. She was a member of Arcola Homemakers Club and Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, John B. Akins, Statesboro; two sisters, Eunice Mills, Sylvania, and Yvonne Kendrick, Savannah; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Akins, Bill Akins, Jeremy Akins, Gary Williams, Jimmy Hayes and Gilbert Akins.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 3434 Brooklet-Denmark Road, Brooklet, GA 30415.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, Statesboro.
