A look at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (4-2, 2-2 ACC) four days before they play Duke (0-6, 0-3) in Durham, N.C., on Saturday (noon, Fox/SS):
Two Georgia Tech players set records in Saturday's 52-20 victory over Wake Forest. Junior flanker Kelly Campbell caught two touchdown passes in the victory, giving him 16 in his career and breaking the school's career touchdown record of 14 held by Dez White, Buck Martin and Gary Lee. Also, Luke Manget set the school record for consecutive extra points. Manget is a perfect 76-for-76 in his career, breaking the previous record of 70 set by Scott Sisson during the 1989-91 seasons. Offensive lineman Chris Brown, a former Butler standout, was named ACC offensive lineman of the week.
Georgia Tech quarterback George Godsey has completed 108 of 176 passes for 1,341 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
Georgia Tech plays its second winless team in two weeks, and if they can dispose of Duke this weekend, they'll need just one more victory to become bowl eligible. The Tech offense is firing on all cylinders, but the Jackets' defense must play better as the team gets ready for a crucial stretch that includes a home game vs. Virginia and road games at Clemson, Maryland and Georgia.
"I need to get their attention right now because I'm not very happy with the defense right now." -- Georgia Tech coach George O'Leary, on the Jackets' defense.
