Mrs. Maude Lawrence



ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Maude Haigler Lawrence, of Goff Avenue, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. George F. Manigo officiating. Burial will be in Orangeburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawrence, a native of Bowman, had retired as a schoolteacher and was a member of Claflin University national and local alumni associations, Interdenominational Ministers Wives and Widows Alliance and Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women.

Survivors include four sons, Rufus G. Lawrence, Atlanta, James Robert Lawrence, Augusta, Rayburne J. Lawrence, Chicago, and Thomas E. Lawrence, Orangeburg; four daughters, Lillian L. Thomas, Pasadena, Calif., Amy L. Allen, Winston-Salem, N.C., Dorothy L. Patton, Atlanta, and Rubilee L. Addison, Clemson; a brother, Thomas Haigler, Bowman; a sister, Zerlie Addison, Columbia; and 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Maude H. Lawrence Scholarship Fund, Claflin University, 400 Magnolia St., Orangeburg, SC 29115.

Friends may call at the residence.
